“As a female immigrant artist, I have always been in my paintings looking for part of my identity, which has been formed in Iran. My paintings depict the feelings I live – about Iran and its people, a place that I always remember as a home. The use of old family photos and along with those photographs of Iranian life today and its integration with elements derived from Safavid paintings with energetic colours, has led to the creation of tempest scenes from medieval utopia: that is how I have always liked to see Iran.“
